NMM 7218.  Trumpet in F by Ferdinand Julius Hermann Altrichter, Frankfurt an der Oder, Prussia, ca. 1885. Survives with its original mouthpiece and leather-covered, shaped case, lined with green felt. Joe R. and Joella F. Utley Collection, 1999.

Signature on Altrichter trumpet

The trumpet is signed J. Altrichter, Grösste Instrumenten Fabrik Deutschlands, Hoflieferant (the greatest instrument maker in Germany, purveyor by special appointment to the Court [Prince Friedrich Carl of Prussia]), Frankfurt A/O. Silver-plated, three rotary valves with abalone set into the touchpieces and valve screws. An exquisite little instrument.
