Harry James Model Trumpet by King, ca. 1972

NMM 7100. Trumpet in B-flat by King Musical Instrument
Company, Cleveland, ca. 1972. Harry James Model. Gold plated. This trumpet
features a so-called "balanced action," in which the valves are set
forward (170 mm instead of the normal ca. 140 mm distance from receiver
to first valve). Harry James preferred this design, in order to accommodate
his long arms. Joe R. & Joella F. Utley Collection, 1999.
