NMM 4038. Alto saxophone in E-flat by Adolphe Sax, Paris, France, 1857. Serial number 16149. Engraved, vertically, on right side of bell: (script) No 16149 / Saxophone alto en mi b breveté / Adolphe Sax à Paris / Fteur de la Mson Milre de l’Empereur / [AS monogram]; stamped on the underside of the bell flare: 1857. Brass. Fingered range: low B-natural to high F. Dual octave keys. No touchpieces or rollers on E-flat, low C, G-sharp, low C-sharp, or low B keys. Length: 600 mm. Bell diameter 140 mm. Arne B. and Jeanne F. Larson Endowment Fund, 1986.
