NMM 1355. Clarinet in C by Goulding and Company, London, ca. 1800-1815. Five sections. Stamped on barrel, top joint, middle joint, and bottom joint: GOULDING & CO; on bell: GOULDING & CO / LONDON. Boxwood, ivory ferrules. Six brass keys with flat, square key covers; springs attached to keys mounted in blocks. Sixth key is a1/b1 trill.Length (top of barrel to bottom of bell): 532 mm. Stamped on barrel, top joint, bottom joint, and bell:[bee] / MARTIN FRES / [fermata] / A PARIS (in oval cartouche along with MARTIN FRES) / [monogram] / B; on middle joint: [monogram]. Boxwood, horn ferrules. Six brass keys with flat, round key covers; springs attached to keys mounted in square rings and one block, sixth key on pillar. Sixth key is c-sharp1/g-sharp2.
